TAFNC 228 Memorial Keynote | Kim Liao – Where Every Ghost Has a Name
這個週末,TAFNC 舉辦了一場二二八紀念講座,邀請了 《Where Every Ghost Has a Name: A Memoir of Taiwanese Independence》 的作者(Kim Liao),以及台美社群的主持人 Kristie Wang、Tim Chng 和作家 Rebecca Liu。
This weekend, TAFNC hosted a 228 Memorial Keynote with Kim Liao, author of “Where Every Ghost Has a Name: A Memoir of Taiwanese Independence” with Taiwanese American community moderators Kristie Wang, Tim Chng, and writer Rebecca Liu.
The rich discussion, community reflection, and writing exercise helped us better connect the stories of our families with the histories that shape us.
From programming lead Leona Chen: “As we think aobut 228… our ancestors will beg that we do not forget, but our descendants will beg that we do something about it, that we intervene when we see the same patterns of authoritarianism and cruelty and disregard for the preciousness of human life and human rights within and beyond our own communities. There is so much at stake today and every day. When we think about how Kim honors the fullness of her grandfather Thomas Liao’s legacy and personhood, I challenge each of us to think about the kinds of people we will be, and what will be written of us, if we are so lucky.”
