Milpitas Blvd. \n姚嘉文資政：台灣百年的民主運動 \n專題演講暨簽書會 \n長年投入台灣民主運動、曾任總統府資政與立法院長的姚嘉文先生，即將親臨灣區，與同樣關心台灣民主未來的海內外鄉親對談。姚先生是台灣黨外運動的先驅之一，曾因主編《台灣政論》雜誌而入獄，後於解嚴後出任民進黨主席與多項要職，持續推動本土法治與憲政改革。他的新書《台灣百年民主運動》以第一人稱記敘，結合歷史文獻與親身經歷，完整記錄了台灣自日治時期以來民主奮鬥的關鍵時刻，是珍貴的史料，也是對未來世代的提醒與期許。 \n現場將開放書籍預購及現場購買，活動後設有簽書時間，歡迎與姚先生交流並獲得親筆簽名。 \nYao Chia-wen: A Century of Taiwan’s Democratic Movement \nKeynote Address & Book Signing \nA lifelong advocate for democracy in Taiwan\, former Presidential Senior Advisor and Legislative Yuan President Yao Chia-wen will visit the Bay Area to engage with diaspora communities equally committed to Taiwan’s democratic future. A key figure in Taiwan’s dangwai movement\, Yao was imprisoned for editing the pro-democracy journal Taiwan Political Review and later became Chair of the Democratic Progressive Party. His most recent book\, A Century of Taiwan’s Democratic Movement\, is a powerful first-person account that interweaves historical documentation with lived experience—charting Taiwan’s struggle for self-determination from Japanese colonial rule to the present day. The book serves as both a vital historical record and an urgent call to action for future generations. \nCopies of the book will be available for pre-order and on-site purchase. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Yao and have their books personalized during the signing session following the talk.
